KUNV Radio is looking for students looking for internships or work-study opportunity at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas or any Nevada System of Higher Education Institution.

Positions available are to assist with the operation of KUNV Radio HD-2 (The Rebel). Deadline to apply is September 4, 2020 by 3:00 p.m. (PST).


The Rebel HD-2 Operations Assistant
Oversees the day-to-day operations of a federally-licensed, community-operated radio station sub-unit, The Rebel HD-2. Oversees, coordinates, and administers a range of operational and administrative activities in direct support of the delivery of 24-hour radio programming by the station. Participates in the development and administration of strategic and operating plans, and evaluates programs for compliance with the overall mission of the station.

  • Participates in the establishment, organization, and implementation of short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement.
  • Directs and administers the provision of day-to-day operation support, utilization, station supplies and inventory, and station safety.
  • Plans, designs, establishes, and maintains organizational structures and systems that enable community volunteer staff members to effectively accomplish the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Assigns, allocates work, and generally oversees volunteer personnel engaged in continuous station operations; performs recruitment, training, scheduling, retention, problem resolution, and performance management.
  • Coordinates departmental special projects, and events; may serve on unit committees and task forces.

The Rebel HD-2 Programming Assistant

Oversees, coordinates, and administers a range of operational and administrative activities in direct support of the delivery of 24-hour radio programming by the station. Participates in the development and administration of strategic and operating plans, and evaluates programs for compliance with the overall mission of the station.

  • Develop, create and participate in on-air fundraising activities and features.
  • Assist in all aspects of the musical format, scheduling, and ticket giveaways/promotions.
  • Develop and produce features related to sports, news and entertainment with the assistance of students, volunteers and staff.
  • Coordinate activities to air which include sports, health and interviews with on-air host.
  • Create reports related to programming and record label contacts ton include community members.
  • Participates in the establishment, organization, and implementation of short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement.
